Steel beams and polished concrete made up much of the construction while the museum was open to visitors. Now that the museum has closed for the winter, major renovations will begin.
Maryhill's current painting storage room is lined with numerous works. The new storage area will be upgraded so that all the paintings can be seen face on.

Native American ethnographic art is currently stacked three to four pieces deep. The new storage area will allow works to be stacked in a single layer, making it easier to see each piece.
